"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (ESV)
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God, possessing authoritative truth for faith and providing sufficient guidance by which to live. Scripture is paramount. It constructs the framework by which our curriculum is designed, the content by which our faculty instruct, and the grace-filled community in which our students are edified.
As a student at an institution with a high view of Scripture, you receive more than an education. You receive the ability to analyze and critique culture from a biblical and theological worldview, to discern the world's agenda in light of foundational truth, a heart more fervent for the Gospel and the desire to passionately proclaim it to His people, and meaningful relationships with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who share your enthusiasm, live the gospel in their daily lives, and seek to glorify their Father in Heaven through diligent study and humble service. You cultivate and explore your relationship with the Lord within a gracious, supportive environment. Lectures not only satiate your mind, they fill your heart; theology leads to doxology.
As a student at an institution with a high view of Scripture, you receive more than knowledge. Since we take Scripture seriously, we take the proclamation of Scripture seriously. You become trained as a pastor-scholar; you are equipped to appropriately exegete and communicate His Word and apply it in a relevant way within a variety of contexts, from the pulpit to the mission field, the classroom to the bible study, the workplace to the home. You receive rigorous academic preparation to more effectively shepherd and love His people, and although thorough this preparation is characterized by grace. While committed to the essentials, our faculty are considerate of varying perspectives on the non-essentials and do not require a particular viewpoint. You understand your beliefs in light of the entirety of Scripture, honing them within the classroom and a gracious community.
As a student at an institution with a high view of Scripture, you receive character development, confidence, and hope. "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:4-6 (ESV)
